We are currently recruiting for Functional Skills Coach to provide
outstanding training and guidance, through coaching and teaching
sessions to facilitate our learners to achieve the Functional Skills
Level 2 in English and Maths qualification. The role is the
predominantly to provide English specialism.

This forms part of the Level 3 Leadership & Management Apprenticeship

Role responsibilities:

    • Support
      learners towards successful outcomes for Functional Skills in English
      & Maths including subject mastery and preparation for assessments
    • Deliver
      a regular programme of tailored support for English and Maths sessions
      (either remote or face to face) both individually and to a group
    • Support consultants to embed Functional Skills into core management development programmes
    • Support the development of shared training resources for Functional Skills.
    • Maintain and enhance the quality of the learner experience on the programme
    • Work with learners from enrolement/induction through to programme completion
    • Undertake regular progress reviews to set SMART targets for learner achievement
    • Ensure internal assessments are appropriately quality assured
    • Meet agreed qualification success targets
    • Liaise closely with the Development Consultant team to ensure successful outcomes for Apprenticeships.
    • Working to learner retention targets
    • Actively promotes Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding and Health and Safety 

successful candidate will be flexible with their delivery methods
whilst providing differentiation and adapting quickly to learners’
needs, to maximise support and achievement opportunities.


  • The
    ideal candidate will have some experience of delivering Functional
    Skills Maths and English up to level 2 in both classroom-based settings
    and via remote methods (webinar, SKYPE, etc)
  • Recognised teaching
    qualification preferable though not essential (any of the following
    quals; PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, Cert ED, PGCE etc)
  • Must have experience of assessing learner work to awarding bodies’ standards
  • Must have experience of working with and motivating individuals
  • Demonstrate energy and passion to motivate and train clients throughout their management development programme
  • Enthusiastic individual who is able to make a real impact and make learning exciting
  • Demonstrate confidence, tenacity and ability to work on own initiative
  • Full, clean driving licence and own vehicle
  • Must be flexible with travel (own transport essential)
  • All candidates must be prepared to undergo a DBS check
