Our well established manufacturing client is now looking to appoint a commercially minded and process driven Accountant. The
successful candidate will be required to ensure the reliability of
company accounting systems and processes, reporting to company Group and
other stakeholders (e.g. auditors, HMRC).

Responsibilities

  • Leading
    month end process – appropriate accruals and provisions (e.g. bad debt,
    warranty), ensuring group reporting deadlines achieved and records
    kept, checking/authorising journals
  • Full completion of month end checklist
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly data upload
  • Ensure adherence to Group Accounting Policies and IFRS
  • Treasury
    Activities – authorising supplier payment runs and local payments,
    keeping to overdraft limits, FX transfers to move money to/from Group
    cash pool, liaising with the bank
  • Weekly Cash Flow forecasting
  • Cash flow optimisation – monitoring of GDNI, sales invoicing and overdue debtors
  • Foreign currency exposure forecasting for FX hedges
  • Local tax reporting (VAT, CIS, NI & payroll taxes, P11D benefits, Corp’n Tax)
  • Overview of balance sheet reconciliations (payroll, prepayments and accruals), bank reconciliations
  • First point of contact for external auditors (year-end and interim audits)
  • Management of Fixed Assets/Investments – appropriate capitalisation, record-keeping (acquisitions, disposals, NBV)
  • Facilitating
    Purchase ledger activities – liaison with local and Payment Factory
    colleagues, highlighting backlogs, resolving problems
  • SAP Travel employee expense system management
  • Some travel to Ringwood and occasionally to other company group locations
  • Management of archive room and company records
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

Essential Requirements:

  • Recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA)
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Financial Accounting role
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within the business 
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritise work load
  • Detail conscious
  • Ability to work under own initiative and be a team player 
  • Excellent level of IT skills, word, excel advanced, SAP knowledge desirable
